Questions
What does a vocal remover do?
It splits a mixed song into two tracks: one with the vocals and one with the instrumental. You can play and download each track on its own.
Can I download both the vocals and the instrumental?
Yes. Every separation gives you both tracks, with Standard and with Pro alike, and each track has its own player and its own download. The tracks are 320 kbps MP3 files with Standard and FLAC files with Pro.
Which files can I upload?
MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC, or OGG files, up to 50 MB and 10 minutes each.
Is it free?
Standard is free with an account: 5 separations every 24 hours. Pro uses credits, which come with a subscription or a credit pack.
What is the difference between Standard and Pro?
Both give you a vocal track and an instrumental track. With Pro, the vocals are cleaner and less of the voice is left in the instrumental. Pro uses 1 credit for a song up to 5 minutes long, 2 credits for a longer one.
Why can I still hear some vocals or music in a separated track?
Because a separation is never complete: a little of one track can stay in the other. Reverb, backing harmonies, and instruments that share the frequencies of the voice all leave traces. Pro leaves less of them than Standard, and neither removes every trace.
What happens if a separation fails?
A failed separation does not count as one of your free separations, and the credits used for Pro are returned.
Are my files uploaded to a server or processed in my browser?
They are uploaded: nothing is processed in your browser. Your file goes to our servers and, to be separated, on to a processing service under a neutral file name. We delete the file and both tracks from our storage 24 hours after upload, and until then only you, signed in, can play or download them.
How long are my files kept?
Your upload and both tracks are deleted 24 hours after upload. Until then only you, signed in, can play or download them.
Do I need an account?
You can choose a file without one. You sign in when you start the separation, and the file you chose is still there when you come back.
Can I remove vocals from a video and get a video back?
Yes, with the Video Vocal Remover. Upload one MP4, MOV, or WebM file, up to 200 MB and 10 minutes, and you get the same video back with the instrumental as its sound, next to the two audio tracks.
